Each room draws on a cave-grey, indigo-blue and jasper-red colour-scheme, is fully air-conditioned and enjoys uninterrupted views over the Crater’s unmatched splendour. At the end of an action-packed day, guests can also follow a gentle nature trail that loops around the Lodge through moss-hung glades and plunging ravines, take a guided walk to the Crater’s rim, relax with a herbal massage, or watch as the burning sun sinks behind the mountains from a unique vantage point on the craggy heights of the Crater’s rim.

DAY 7: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater

Day Itinerary

After breakfast at the Lodge, depart with a picnic lunch and drive to the Ngorongoro crater, where you will spend the rest of l day exploring Ngorongoro crater which is a World Heritage Site and home to nearly 25,000 animals. Giving you a very real chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, endangered black rhino, buffalo, plus countless other African mammal species.

Wildlife

You will witness the magnificent array of habitats, each with its own unique wildlife and flora. You will take time out to stretch your legs and enjoy your picnic lunch at Ngoitokitok Springs watching the hippos jostle for position in the water. After lunch, you will proceed with game viewing leaving the crater floor in the late afternoon and drive back to the Lodge. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. FB

Ngorongoro Crater

Central Serengeti

Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterized by endless stretches of Savannah covered open plains interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite and scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams.

The Central

Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.

Overnight: Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is situated high a tree clad ridge, commanding panoramic views across the Serengeti. The lodge is a fusion of traditional African architecture and modern style. Centrally located adjacent to the Western Corridor and Grumeti River, the lodge has been designed to blend completely into the living landscape.

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti together with Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Masai warrior and some cattle to the picture, and the conversation need go no further. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, hotair ballooning over the Serengeti plains has become almost essential, and you can even do a horse riding safari.
 

DAY 9: Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, Central Serengeti

Serengeti Western Corridor

Defined by its two parallel rivers: the Mbalageti and the Grumeti, the Serengeti’s remote Western Corridor is home to a dazzling array of animal, bird and floral species. This region becomes a hive of activity around July, when it offers front row seats to the Great Migration, with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and other migratory species thundering through the area’s woodlands and across its plains. While this is undoubtedly the annual wildlife highlight, the Western Corridor offers good game-viewing throughout the year, with guided walks, horse riding safaris and balloon trips offered as an alternative to drives.

DAY 11: End of Itinerary

Day Itinerary After breakfast at the Lodge, transfer to Kogatende airstrip for your flight to Arusha departing at 11:00. on arrival in Arusha you will be met and transfer to Arusha Serena Hotel and spa for Lunch and day room use, later you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro international for your flight back home.
