  About ten trees 30 meters high border this avenue, of the species Adansonia grandidieri, endemic to Madagascar. Baobabs, over 800 years old, known locally as renala (in Malagasy for “mother of the forest”), are a heirloom of the dense tropical forests that thrived in Madagascar. Tsingy de Bemaraha is strongly regarded as a place of endemism because of their richness in plant and animal species where scientists have recorded a high level of endemism of around 80-90%. There are 17 rare species of reptiles, including the very small chameleon scientifically called the Brookesia perarmata and a species of rodents, Nesomys lambertoni, found only in the park. There are also 11 species of lemurs, six species of birds, and two species of local endemic amphibians. On the flora side, the park abounds with more than 600 species of plants, but the baobabs, aloes and flamboyants remain the first stars.

  The Ranomafana National Park is located in the southeast of Madagascar straddling the regions of Upper Matsiatra and Vatovavy Fitovinany. It is 412 km south-east of Antananarivo, 65 km north-east of Fianarantsoa and 139 km west of the town of Mananjary.   Isalo is located in the south of Madagascar in Ranohira. The park extends over an area of 81,54 hectares. Isalo is home to a population dominated by the Bara ethnic group mixed with communities of various origins who settled there because of the exploitation of sapphire in the surrounding area of Ilakaka. The territory is also a historically rich archaeological site, as it retains the continental plate connecting Madagascar with Africa, two million years ago. A true tourist attraction for its geomorphological singularities, at the same time varied and unique in the world, it is the most visited site on the island. The park is of rock structure that is globally shaped by the erosion of reddish mountainous sandstones dating back to the Jurassic era of 200 million years ago, extending for nearly 100 kilometers in the north-south direction. The approval letter will take a minimum of 3 days to be processed so we strongly advise for you to apply within plenty of time (maximum of 6 months prior to your arrival) before your departure. You will be permitted to stay within Madagascar for a maximum of up to 90 days and we strongly recommend for you to read the FAQ section on the e-visa website before applying.

It is a condition of booking with HT Agency Tours that you have adequate valid travel insurance. Following the advice given by the Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, we strongly recommend the wearing long sleeved shirts and the liberal application of insect repellent as a precautionary measure to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. DAY 2 – ANTANANARIVO – MORONDAVA (FLIGHT) - KIRINDY

At the end of the afternoon, back to the hotel, with a stop at the famous window of Isalo to appreciate a breathtaking and spectacular scene of the color of the sun. DAY 11 – ISALO – TOLIARA – ANTANANARIVO

After the breakfast, this part of our journey continues down the paved RN7 to its end in Tulear on the Southwest coast, introducing us to new scenery among the dry forests of the west and the spiny desert of the south. We pass through the sapphire mining boom town of Ilakaka, a frontier town vaguely reminiscent of the Wild West. En-route today we see the locations of different ornate hillside ‘Mahafaly Tombs’, which were built for chiefs and kings and are covered in stones, sculptures and horns. One of the largest tombs has over 700 horns of zebu cattle! As this is a sacred site we will just be passing by. Tomb is adorned Photography is not permitted. We also pass the area of the ‘Antandroy Tombs’. This is the driest part of the country – called the “Deep South” – where the landscape is dominated by cactus-like, spiny forests of different euphorbias. DAY 12 – ANTANANARIVO – NOSY BE

Today, your breakfast will be served as early as possible since the flight take off at 6:00am. Transfer directly airport and fly to Nosy Be. DAY 13 – NOSY BE (NOSY IRANJA)

After breakfast, around 08:00AM, depature to the famous Nosy Iranja which is located at 1h30 by speedboat from Nosy Be. These two islands are connected by a fine white sandbank which is covered at high tide, and discovered at low tide. This is a paradise island with its turquoise blue colors, white paradise, and green nature. The turtles come there to lay still to date hence its name “Turtle Island”. We see all kinds of birds; terns, some varieties of herons and the passage of sea eagles. Buffet lunch on tables in the shade of coconut trees (crab, grilled fish, kebabs of zebu and shrimp, coconut rice, raw vegetables, tropical fruits). Visit the lighthouse and the authentic village of Greater Iranja. On the course featured, discover the entire virgin coast of the big island (Madagascar) and its miles of wild beaches, sugar loaf (large rock formation mid-course) and Nosy Antsoa, ​​still completely authentic island. DAY 14 – NOSY BE (NOSY KOMBA)

  After breakfast, leave the hotel around 8:00AM with continuing the visit, which is divided by two main stops: The first one in Nosy Komba which is the 2nd largest island after Nosy Be. Visit the Lemurs Park, the fishing village and its traditional pirogues. Visit also the market tablecloths, then cross the village for a moment of shopping with the famous sculptures of Nosy Komba, its craft stalls, smiling faces and colorful. The Second one: Nosy Tanikely, underwater protected nature reserve. Just a mask and a snorkel to dive into a real life-size aquarium. A few meters from the beach, you will see the magnificent spectacle of corals and anemones, myriads of multicolored fish, crustaceans, grouper and lucky sea turtles. Swimming, stroll to the lighthouse to discover the dogfish and lemurs perched in the trees, lizards, chameleons and butterflies will accompany you along the way. DAY 15 – NOSY BE – ANTANANARIVO (DEPARTURE)

After breakfast, you will be driven in town for shopping and purchase of some souvenirs in the artisanal market. And then, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Antananarivo. On arrival, another car will pick you up and transfer you to the Ivato international Airport for your external flight.
